Fay Bussgang, 7/28/2025, via email: "The Icek Toronczyk who is [known to be] related to us is listed in the Ozorków Books of Residents 231-248. The top person in the following document is Icek, crossed out. Last column says he died March 13/25 (depending on calendar) in 1878. The second person is Raiza Piotrkowska, his wife. It looks like she died in 1882. The other two people are not related. They moved into the house when the others died." Image source: Fay Bussgang from Łódź Archives.

My Thorner Ancestry

A third cousin would share descent from Meir (1829-1879); a fourth fromAbram (1803-1880).
BUT,
I have assumed that this relatedness derives from the ancestry of my grandfather's mother Glicke,
from whom the family took their last name in the US.
But there is also some slim evidence that my grandfather's grandmother was a Toronczyk, about whom I know nothing.
It is possible that my great grandparents were related to one another.
This would also explain why Paul Thorner, known to be a Chshunstovsky,
but with a sliver of evidence that he had
a Toronczyk ancestor, was also a genetic match to this Danish famiy.
